South Coast Part 1

This ride is part of the NSW Coast Cycle Trail which connects Brisbane to Melbourne via the stunning Australian coastline - get excited, this is a good one!

We started our day at Thirroul Beach where there is plenty of parking on nearby Hamilton Road and in the surrounding streets. With an abundance of beaches along the way, this track boasts incredible scenery and a guaranteed fun day out! Bulli Point and Waniora Point are the first of many amazing viewing spots along the way.

When you arrive at Kurraba Road, you’ll have to cross over and follow the signs for the ‘NSW Coastline Cycleway’. You’ll pass many playgrounds and a couple of outdoor fitness equipment areas along the way, including those at Nicholson Park in Woonona. Make your way past Blue Lagoon and Bellambi Lagoon and you’ll find yourself at the fabulous Bellambi Rock Pool and Park.

You’ll need to cross another street that turns into a car park on Robert Cram Drive, as well as another one further down at Armour Street. These are all relatively quiet streets so don’t let them discourage you!

If you haven’t already had a break, Bellambi Lagoon Nature Park is located beside Corrimal Beach and together they make a lovely spot to stop for a photo or picnic. There’s also a car park here for those with a chauffeur to pick them up!

Back on track and you’ll continue peddl.in until you reach Lake Parade which you’ll again have to cross over. Further down the coast is Towradgi Point, where there’s a rock pool, playground and public toilets, making it another great place for a break!

This ride ends near Thomas Dalton Park, where if you’re lucky you might catch a glimpse of skydivers practicing in the fields! If you've still got some energy you can go a bit further by joining up with our Fairy Meadow to Wollongong ride.
